Lighting Designer
She has designed the lighting for more than 450 performances for theatre, music, dance, opera, as well as for installations in Greece and abroad (international festivals). Moreover, she has designed the architectural lighting of several buildings, state and private spaces, museums, cultural centers, etc, receiving great acclaim and awards for her work. She has taught stage lighting design at the University of New York (1990/92) and at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (School of Drama, Faculty of Fine Arts) as an Assistant Professor since 2005. She has also taught design of architectural lighting (2012/14) at the postgraduate department of the School of Applied Arts of the Hellenic Open University. She is a member of international unions of professional lighting designers. Her participation at the Olympic Games – Athens 2004 as a director and lighting designer of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies has been a unique moment in her career. For the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games – Athens 2004 she received the international EMMY award for Outstanding Lighting Direction. She has collaborated with the GNO for such productions as Orfeo ed Euridice, Il prigioniero, La vida breve, Remember Those Years!, The Love Bacchilus [To mikrovio tou erota], Carmen, Nabucco and Norma. // Last update of the biography: June 2019
