Director and choreographer, he is the Co-Artistic Director of the company Theatre O. He studied drama and English at the University of East Anglia and at the École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq. He regularly collaborates with Katie Mitchell. As movement director his opera and theatre credits include, among others, productions such as Ariadne auf Naxos, Pelléas et Mélisande, Alcina (Aix-en-Provence Festival), Purcell’s Miranda (Opéra Comique, Paris), Lucia di Lammermoor, George Benjamin’s Lessons in Love and Violence (Royal Opera House), Idomeneo (ENO), Hansel and Gretel, Lucy Kirkwood’s Beauty and the Beast, Theodor Geisel’s The Cat in the Hat, Thomas Heywood’s A Woman Killed with Kindness (National Theatre), Dennis Kelly’s Girls & Boys (Royal Court), Julian Philips’ How the Whale Became, James MacMillan’s Clemency (ROH2), Hamlet (Royal Shakespeare Company), Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa (Theatr Clwyd).
