Christine Assimacopoulou
Soloist, Soprano
She has sung as chorister and soloist in opera productions of the GNO, the Attica Cultural Society and the Orchestra of Colours (2012/13 Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Athens Concert Hall 2011, Epidaurus Ancient Theatre 2001). She has participated in the recording of George Kouroupos’ opera The escapees of the checkerboard [Oi drapetes tis skakieras] (Sirius). She performed as soloist with the Athens Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Polyphonic Choir of Patras and the University of Athens Orchestra. As an actor she has appeared in plays by Frank Wedekind, Tennessee Williams, Tsimaras Tzanatos and Demitris Demitriadis. She has attended ancient drama seminars (IV Meeting of Ancient Drama / Delphi European Cultural Center), as well as musical theater (Guildford School of Acting) and mime seminars (International School of Physical Mime Theater, Paris). She is currently studying at the Athens University Department of Music, and is a graduate of solo singing under Mata Katsouli and a member of the GNO Opera Studio. She has participated in the performance of Handel’s Vespro per la Madonna del Carmelo (Parnassos Concert Hall of Athens, 2014), as well as in the show Venus in Hades (Theater at the Bath House of the Winds, Athens, 2013).
