She was born in Stockholm on 25/01/1963. He studied at the Stockholm Opera Conservatory and first appeared in 1992 on the Royal Opera Stockholm, where, although still a student, she sang the role of Sieglinde (The Valkyrie/Die Walküre). First appeared professionally as Amelia (Shimon Μποκκανέγκρα/Simon Boccanegra) the Royal Opera in Stockholm (1991). She is a dramatic soprano specializing in the works of Wagner, Richard Strauss as well as composers of the 20th century such as Berg, Shostakovich, Bartok. She has repeatedly sung roles in Wagner works such as Isolde and Brangäne (Tristan und Isolde), Kundry (Parsifal), Brunnhilde (The Ring of the Nibelung/Der Ring des Nibelungen), Elizabeth (Tannhäuser) and Eva (The Master-Singers of Nuremberg/Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), as well as Ariadne (Ariadne in Naxos/Ariadne auf Naxos), Marie (Wozzeck), Marietta (The Dead City/Die tote Stadt) and the title roles in Electra (Elektra) and Salome (Salome). She has appeared, inter alia, at the Metropolitan Opera New York, Paris Opera, Salzburg festival and Aix-marseille-en-Provence festival, Grand Theater of Liceu Barcelona, State Opera Vienna, Royal Opera House of London, Chicago Opera, Dresden Opera, Holland Opera in Amsterdam, etc. She has worked with major conductors such as Barenboim, Davis, Rattle, Levine, Meta, Pappano, etc. She has sung in concerts with the Vienna and Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and the Symphony orchestras of London, Montreal and the BBC. The King of Sweden Charles Gustav XVI has awarded her the title of Singer of the Royal Court (2000). She has recorded the operas Wozzeck, The Dead City, Tristan and Isolde and Parcifal.
