Born in Kingston on Thames, Great Britain, on 24/09/1971. At age twelve she began studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She studied English literature at the University of Bristol and stage design with the Motley Theatre Design Course. She began her career in London theaters (Royal National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Palace, Old and New Vic, Soho, Haymarket, etc.) and continued with productions in New York, Madrid, Dublin and Tokyo. Her first major engagement for the opera Macbeth ( Ernst Bloch) was in 2003 in Vienna. Since then she has cooperated with major opera houses and festivals in Europe including the Grand Theatre Lieu Barcelona, de Nederlandse Opera, Royal Danish Opera , Finnish National Opera, Dresden Opera, English National Opera, Leipzig Opera , Oper Frankfurt and the Glyndebourne Festival. In 2005 she created the sets for the world tour of Kanye West and to date has worked with major pop artists such as Lady Gaga, Muse, Lenny Kravits, Shakira and Goldfropp. She has also worked in film and television productions. She has been awarded three times with the TPi Stage Designer of the Year Award (2010, 2011 and 2012), as well as the Oliver Award for Best Costume Design (2006), TMA Award for Best Stage Design (1998) and Linbury Prize for Stage Design (1996). For the Greek National Opera, she supervised the sets of the opera The Puritans [I puritani] (2009 a co-production with De Nederlandse Opera and the Grand Théâtre de Genève) presented at the Athens Concert Hall.
