Alexandros Dimitropoulos
Soloist, Tenor
He was born in Athens. He studied classical singing under Panagiotis Kariotis and composition under Nikos Kariotis. He is a graduate of the sound engineering department of the ANT1 Medialab. He has attended drawing, photography and graphic design courses. He has taken musical systems analysis, instrumentation, orchestration, pipe organ and film music seminars under George Zervos, George Fitsioris, Nikos Kariotis, Christos Paraskevopoulos, Spyros Klapsis and Alexandros Mouzas. He has appeared in several classical song concerts. He has collaborated with Yannis Thomopoulos, Yannis Markopoulos and Dionysis Savvopoulos and has made the soundtrack of the documentary Voiceless. He is an active member and head of the activity planning of the Art Workshop “Marsyas”, with which he makes appearances in Greece and abroad. He is a special partner of the Athens Municipality Chorus and the Chorus “Piraiki Armonia”. He has also collaborated with the Association of Pipe Organ Friends and the Chorus of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT), as well as with the Dionysos Semelis Mixed Chorus and the voice ensemble Eklipsis. He has participated in a number of GNO productions, including the opera Aida and, in collaboration with the Athens Chamber Orchestra, Aladdin and the Magic Lamp [Aladino e la lampada magica] in 2007/08.
