A British-born American costume designer, he enjoyed a distinguished career at the world’s most celebrated theatres. He spent most of his career in Dallas Opera, but he worked also for Royal Opera House (Covent Garden), La Scala (Milan), the Old Vic and the Vienna State Opera, as well as for the American Ballet Theatre, the MET, the New York City Opera and Broadway in New York. He dressed some of the world’s most luminary performers, like Joan Sutherland, Kiri Te Kanawa, Judi Dench
and Maggie Smith as well as Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, David Bowie and Mick Jagger. He had a deep knowledge of fabrics related to the movement, the light, the body and the whole stage. He passed away in 2010. // Last update: January 2019
