Yannis Kavouras
Soloist, Tenor
Greek tenor, he was born in Athens. He studied violin, piano, advanced music theory and singing (Panos Dima’s class, diploma with honors and first prize). He also studied under Sebastian Vittucci (Vienna), Jane Henschel και Bryan Hymel. He has sung, among others, Albert Herring (Thessaloniki Concert Hall), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Ernesto (Don Pasquale), Count Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Basilio (Le nozze di Figaro), Matteo Borsa (Rigoletto), Beppe (Pagliacci), Gastone (La traviata), Le Remendado (Carmen), Zacharoulis (The godson). He has also worked with such conductors as Antonello
Allemandi, Richard Bonynge, Zubin Mehta. He has performed Mozart’s Requiem, Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël, Dubois’ Les sept paroles du Christ, Mendelssohn‘s Elijah, Telemann’s TWV 1:877 (cantata), Haydn’s Missa in tempore belli, Bach’s Mass in B minor (BWV 232). He is a graduate of the School of Physical Education and Sport Science (University of Thessaly, with postgraduate diploma) and postgraduate student of the Department of Music Studies (Ionian University, specialization: singing).
