Maria Komisopoulou

Soloist, Mezzo-Soprano
She graduated from the Vienna Conservatory obtaining a monody diploma, a Special Harmony Certificate and the academic title Padagogik fur Kindersingschullehrer (training for song teachers to children). She took postgraduate studies at the Superior School of Music and the Performing Arts (Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Vienna), focusing on oratorio and lied. She studied at the second year of the three-year Educational Programme of Music Therapy at the Music Therapy Centre of Thessaloniki in collaboration with the corresponding postgraduate study programme of the University of New York and the Rizopoulou Conservatory; she has participated in seminars of music education content. She is also a graduate of the Athens University Department of Administration of Education and Research. In the period 1989-1994 she worked as a regular member of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) choir. She was an associate professor during the 1997 summer semester in courses of the programme of the First, Second and Third grades of the Kindersingschule, Austria. Since 1999 she is a music teacher at the Greek-American Educational Institution/ Athens College of Psychiko. In 1997-1999 she sang the following roles in GNO productions: Third lady [The magic flute/Die Zauberflöte] and Nicklausse [The tales of Hoffmann/Les Contes d'Hoffmann].
