Swiss-Ukrainian bass, praised for the depth and richness of his voice, he has established himself in recent years as one of the leading basses in the opera scene. Among his more than forty performed roles are Filippo II (Don Carlo), Zaccaria (Nabucco), Ramphis (Aida), Kaspar (Der Freischütz), Méphistophélès (Faust), and in Russian language roles such as Prince Igor, Pimen (Boris Godunov) and Prince Gremin (Eugene Onegin). In 2010 he debuted to great acclaim as Wotan and Der Wanderer in the Los Angeles Opera new production of Wagner’s Ring Cycle, conducted by James Conlon. After this success, in 2011 Daniel Barenboim invited him at La Scala in Milan for Die Walküre, the season opening production. His recent highlights include Boris Godunov at the Bavarian
