Akis Laloussis
Soloist, Baritone
He was born in Athens. He studied at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki under Katerina Karatza and graduated from there in 1999. In 2002, on a scholarship from the “Alexandros S. Onassis” Foundation, he continued with graduate studies at the Julliard School of Music in New York and the Manhattan School of Music. He attended masterclasses with Marlena and Spyros Malas at the Chautauqua School of Music, as well as with Ulrich Rademacher and Gabriella Ravazzi. He collaborates often with the Athens Concert Hall, the Thessaloniki Concert Hall and the Opera of Thessaloniki. He has performed with prestigious music ensembles, such as: Prague Symphony Orchestra, “Robert Schuman” Philharmonic Orchestra (Germany), New Symphony Orchestra Bulgaria, Belgrade National Opera Orchestra, Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) Orchestra, Athens State Orchestra, Orchestra of Colours. He performed in the productions of Konstantinos Palaiologos in Thessaloniki (1997) and Athens (2001), Lucia di Lammermoor in Beijing (2004) and Tosca, at the Festival of the Aegean (Syros, 2009). He has sang roles from the operas Dido and Aeneas, Carmen, The medium, Fidelio, Don Giovanni, Rigoletto, Un ballo in maschera, La bohème, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Samson et Dalila] and more. He sings soloist parts from oroatorios and other religious music works by Bach, Rossini, Mozart, Michailidis, Schubert and Astrinidis. Since 2008, he has appeared in GNO productions as Schaunard (La bohème), Harasta (Rříhody lišky Bystroušky), Marullo (Rigoletto), Baron Mirko Zeta (Die lustige Witwe), Montano (Otello) and more. // Last update of the biography: November 2015 - The list of productions below is continually updated.
