Andreas Metaxas-Mariatos
Soloist, Baritone
Greek baritone, he is an architect, graduate of the National Technical University of Athens, with postgraduate studies on restoration of monuments. He studied piano at the National Conservatory, Athens, and the Athens Conservatory. He participated for the first time in an opera production at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus (Turandot, Greek National Opera, 1996) as a member of the Children’s Chorus. He studied singing at the Athenaeum Conservatory with Irini Tsirakidis and later he studied with Lydia Vafiadi and Yannis Vryzakis. He began as an amateur chorister in 2002 at the Athens Conservatory with such teachers as Nikos Kotrokois and Natasha Angelopoulou and continued as a regular member of the Chorus of the National Technical University of Athens conducted by Michalis Economou. Since 2011 he has been a professional chorister. He participated in the Public Power Corporation Chorus and Fons Musicalis
Chorus under Kostis Konstantaras. He cooperated with Armonia Atenea Orchestra under Markellos Chryssikos and George Petrou, as well as with the Chorus of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation under Antonis Kontogeorgiou and Dimitris Ktistakis. Since 2015 he has been participating as an additional chorister in productions of the Greek National Opera and the Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera. // Last update: December 2019
