She was born in Lemberg of Poland (today's Lviv of the Ukraine) in 1932. First, she trained in Warsaw. In 1953, she won first prize in the National Song Contest of Poland. She made her debut appearance in 1956 in Posen (Poland). Soon thereafter, she was recruited by the Opera of Warsaw, where she escelled as Marina [Boris Godunov], Amneris [Aida] and Judith in Honegger's namesake opera. During the 1950s she often appeared in recitals in Poland. In 1960, she went on a state scholarship to study at La Scala of Milan. Subsequently she appeared in the Opera of Warsaw and, mostly, German opera houses, such as the State Theater of Wiesbaden, the Opera of Frankfurt and the Cologne Opera. At the German Opera on the Rhine, in Düsseldorf , under the guidance of director Grischa Barfuss, she excelled in operas by Rossini and Verdi. During the period 1970-1990, she cooperated with European opera houses in several cities, such as: Aarhus (Denmark), Assisi, Basel, Berlin, Breslau, Geneva, Lausanne, Ljubljana, Lucerne, Lyon, Mannheim, Paris, Perugia, Sarajevo, Zurich. She was particularly known for her appearances as Angelina [Cindrella/Cenerentolla], Judith [Judith] by Honegger and Carmen [Carmen]. Her repertory includes, among others, the following roles: Eboli [Don Carlo], Azucena [Il trovatore], Amneris [Aida], Maddalena [Rigoletto], Rosina [Il barbiere di Siviglia], Isabella [The Italian Girl in Algiers/L' italiana in Algeri], Gertrud [Hänsel und Gretel], Santuzza [Rustic Chivalry/Cavalleria rusticana], Jezibaba [Rusalka], Jocasta [Oedipus Rex], Judith [Bluebeard's Castle/A kékszakállú herceg vára], etc. She also sang in oratorios and symphonic concerts in Poland and Germany. He died on 19/8/2014 in Berlin. At the GNO, she appeared once, as Angelina (Cinderella/La cenerentola] (1976/77).
