Anastasia Monogeni

Soloist, Soprano
She was born in Volos. She was a student at the Conservatory of Athens in the classes of Claude Sielet (oboe) and Kiki Morfoniou (monody). In 1988, she won the “Maria Callas” scholarship and continued studying in London with Vera Rózsa. She attended repertoire lessons in Milan with principal musician Antonio Tonini and seminars in Manchester with tenor Carlo Bergonzi and soprano Renata Scotto. She sang in concerts and performances in Greece and abroad. She participated in theatrical plays such as The Maids (Les bonnes, National Theatre, 2009). She performed at the Greek National Opera for the first time in season 1988/89 as Anna (Maria Stuarda). Thereafter, she sang leading and supporting roles in numerous productions such as Lady II (Die Zauberflöte), Schwertleite (Die Walküre, concert at the Athens Concert Hall), Cook in the operetta The Godson, Prisoner in Shostakovich’s opera Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District, Mlle Jouvenot (Adriana Lecouvreur), Ines (Il trovatore), Cio-Cio San's mother (Madama Butterfly), etc. // Last update of the biography: December 2015 - The list of productions below is continually updated
