Aristides Pantazinakos

He was born in Kalimerianous, Evia in 1922. He studied voice at the Hellenic Conservatory of Music and Arts, from where he graduated in 1950. His first performance was in 1942, ina production by the Hellenic Conservatory of Music and Arts, as Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana), He took part in the recordings of Selection of Operettas, Unique Performances, O Vaftistikos and other sucessful albums. He collaborated with the GNO from 1943 to 1987. In particular, he was recruited as a member of the GNO Chorus (1943/45), then from 1945 to 1973 he worked as permanent soloist, while in the period 1973/87 he served as stage director. In the period 1945/80 he appeared in 56 operas, twelve operettas, one musicals and one oratorio and 225 productions and/or revivals. He performed many leading as well as secondary roles, such as: Nathanaël (Les contes d'Hoffmann), Ferdinard Binder (Das Dreimädelhaus), Frederique (Mignon), Guillot Morfontaine (Manon), Count Tassilo of Endrödy-Wittemburg (Gräfin Mariza), Gastone (La Traviata), Ruiz, (Il trovatore), Le Remendado (Carmen), Goro (Madama Butterfly), Normano (Lucia di Lammermoor), Basilio (Le nozze di Figaro), Don Riccardo (Ernani), Beppe (Pagliacci), Parpignol (La bohème), Floros (King Aniliagos), Martis (The Godson) etc. He participated in many GNO productions at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, during the Athens Festival, such as: Jaquino (Fidelio), Evandro (Alceste), Prince Shuysky (Boris Godunov), Abdallo (Nabucco), Messenger (Aida), Pang (Turandot), Philistine Messenger, First Philistine (Samson et Dalida), Maestro Trabuco (La forza del destino) etc. He took part in many GNO premieres.
