He was born in Tripoli. He became interested in byzantine psalms from an early age. He studied voice and singing with Kostas Paschalis, Themis Sermie, Maria Koromantzou, Giorgos Zervanos and others. He attended opera seminars by Carlo Bergonzi, Ileana Koutroubas, Jeannette Pilou, Luigi Alva and others. He represented Greece in the Wagner repertoire singing competition in Bayreuth, Germany. His repertoire includes roles from operas by Verdi, Puccini, Saint-Saëns, Wagner, etc. He is a permanent staff member of the GNO. He has sang the role of Siegmund (The Valkyrie/Die Walküre) in a concert-tribute to Wagner staged by conductor Miltiadis Karydis with GNO staff at the Athens Concert Hall (1991-92).
