Georgios Papadimitriou
Soloist, Bass-Baritone
Greek bass-baritone, he started studying music at the age of five with piano and advanced music theory lessons. He got his diploma in solo-singing under Martha Arapi (2010). His love for opera grew stronger by participating in the choruses of the Greek National Opera and the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation. He continued his studies in the USA (City University of New York, scholar of the Greek State Scholarships Foundation), where he began his soloist career, singing among others: Dr Cajus (The Merry Wives of Windsor) and Dr Grenvil (La traviata) at the Delaware Valley Opera, as well as Colline (La bohème) and Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro) at Regina Opera. He completed his studies at the Music Academy of Würzburg under Cheryl Studer with scholarships from the Richard Wagner and Bertelsmann Foundations. During 2016/17 artistic season he made his debut with the Opéra national du Rhin as a member of the Opera Studio. Since 2018, he has participated in numerous GNO productions, among other: Ζ, The Princess and the Pea, La Sonnambula, Don Carlo, Europeras, Madama Butterfly, Magic Pillows, The Murderess, Les Contes d’ Hoffmann. He is a PhD candidate at the Music Department of the Athens University (field: Singing Voice Acoustics). // Last update of the biography: February 2023.
