Soloist, Soprano
She was born in Athens in 1922 and grew up on Corfu Island, where she took her first music lessons at the Philharmonic Society. She studied voice on a scholarship under Maria Teresa Pediconi at the National Academy of St Cecilia in Rome, while she received stage training by Riccardo Picozzi. She also took lessons in Paris and Vienna. She made her debut in Rome, in the opera The Elixir of Love [L 'elisir d'amore]. She collaborated for five years with the Italian, Austrian and German Radio. She gave concerts in Athens and other major Greek cities, as well as in Paris, Brussels, Cologne, Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Belgrade, Zagreb, Sarajevo and in African cities. She has been a member of the Association of Greek Actors since 1952 and of the Association of Melodrama and Opera Actors. She taught elocution at the School of the National Theatre of Greece. She worked with the GNO in the period 1951-1953, singing the roles of Gilda [Rigoletto] (1951/52), Lucia [Lucia di Lamermoor] (1952/53) and Oscar [A Masked Ball/Un ballo in maschera] (1952/53).
