He was born in South Korea and studied voice there. In 2002 he moved to Italy, where he continued singing studies at the Santa Cecilia Music Conservatory, Rome. Following his graduation he continued further studies in Italy and Germany. He debuted as Calaf [Turandot] in Italy (2008). He earned distinctions in many international song contests, such as the Anemos Lyric Competition (Rome), Mario Lanza International Competition (Filignano, Italy), Luciano Neroni Lyric International Competition (Ripatransone, Italy), Wilde Award Best Performance (2014, Michigan Opera, US) and voice competition at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona (2009). In 2009 he made his debut as Pollione [Norma] in a production that toured several Italian cities. He has performed at major opera houses in Italy (Verona, Genoa, Torre del Lago, Palermo, Cagliari), as well as in the US (Michigan), Canary Islands (Las Palmas), Bolivia (Bogota), France (Nancy), Canada (Detroit), Hungary (Budapest), Japan and Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). He is renowned as a performer of starring tenor roles, mainly in operas by Verdi and Puccini, including Mario Cavaradossi [Tosca], Ernani [Ernani], Turiddu [Cavalleria rusticana], Manrico [The troubadour/Il trovatore] and Arrigo [The Sicilian vespers/I vespri siciliani]. In 2011 he debuted as Calaf at Tokyo’s Nikikai Opera Foundation under the baton of Gianluigi Gelmetti. He recently successfully appeared as Radamès [Aida] in Liège and Seoul (South Korea), as well as Otello [Otello] in Seoul and Las Palmas (Canary Islands). He has appeared at the GNO as Turiddu (Odeon of Herodes Atticus, 2011), Manrico (Odeon of Herodes Atticus, 2012), Arrigo (Athens Concert Hall, 2012/13) and Mario Cavaradossi [Tosca] (Odeon of Herodes Atticus, 2015).
