Costume Designer
He was born in Rome, where he studied classical studies and architecture. He began his career as a set and costume designer in 1972 at the Two Worlds Festival in Spoleto, with a work by Salieri directed by Gian Carlo Menotti. He has collaborated with directors from all over the world, both in the most important theatres in his country (La Scala in Milan, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Rome Opera, Ravenna Festival) and internationally (Paris Opera, Royal Opera House, La Monnaie in Brussels, Vienna State Opera, Festival of Two Worlds in Charleston, New National Theatre in Tokyo), as well as in theatres in Washington, Dallas, Chicago, etc. He has designed world premieres of works by Gian Carlo Menotti with poetic texts by Salvatore Sciarrino.
