Stella Rotsiou

Set Designer, Costume Designer
She was born in Ioannina, Greece on 27/5/1971. She studied in Florence at the Department of Set and Costume Design of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze (1989-1993), as well as at the Theater Research Laboratory Sesto Fiorentino (1990-1992) and the School of Television Technicians (1991-1993). Subsequently, she did postgraduate studies at the National Technical University of Athens, in the special interdepartmental course Design/Space/Culture. She participated in many stage, film and television productions in partnership with set designers Giorgos Patsas, Tasos Zografos and Ersi Drini. She also worked for many years with Dionyssis Fotopoulos in set design productions in Greece and abroad. Since 1993, she designs sets and costumes for stage productions in state theaters, regional theaters (DIPETHE) and the Athens Concert Hall. She participated in full feature and short film productions, such as Nikos Kalogeropoulos’ Riders of Pylos [Oi ippeis tis Pylou] and Hierocles Michaelides’ Liar Wanted [Ziteitai Pseftis], as well as in musical productions with the band Agami Thytai and singer Eleftheria Arvanitaki. Since 2001, she works as artistic director, mainly for advertising films. She collaborates with the National Theater of Northern Greece since February 2012. She worked with the GNO in the 1997/98 season, designing the sets and costumes for the Ballet Evening, which included the ballets Petrushka and The Cursed Snake [To katarameno fidi] (Tribute to Manos Hadjidakis).
