
Pavlos Sampsakis
GNO Chorus Member, Bass
He was born in Athens. He received a monody diploma from the Synchronon Conservatoire of Athens, under the instruction of George Zervanos. He is also a graduate of the Athens Technological Educational Institute (Department of Business Administration). He has collaborated with the Symphony Orchestra of Volos in Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem. He is a member of the GNO Chorus since 1991, having sung numerous secondary and auxiliary roles such as Crespel (Les contes d'Hoffmann), Roucher (Andrea Chénier), High priest of Baal (Nabucco), Borov and Cirillo (Fedora), Joe (Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny), Sciarrone (Tosca), Second armored man (Die Zauberflöte), Antonio (Le nozze di Figaro), Prince Gremin (Eugene Onegin), Dionysus (Kostas Karyotakis), Old gypsy (Il trovatore), Sergeant (La bohème), First soldier (Salome), Mr. Peachum, Crook-finger'd Jack (The Beggar's Opera), Quinault (Adriana Lecouvreur), Padre Guardiano (La forza del destino), Third sailor (The Shadowy Waters), Montano (Otello, Odeon of Herodes Atticus) etc. He sang the role of Alcandro in the Geek premiere of Vivaldi's opera L'Olimpiade (Music Theater Center Volos, 2001).
