Despoina Skarlatou-Paraskevopoulou
Soloist, Soprano
Greek soprano, she was born in Thessaloniki and studied music in Greece and abroad. She graduated from the theatre school Tempo in Lucca, Italy, and studied singing and melodrama at the Spazio Musica in Genova, Italy. Since the age of twenty two, she has been singing leading roles in such operas and operettas as La traviata, La bohème, Carmen, The Medium, Le nozze di Figaro, Macbeth Remix, Gianni Schicchi, Prima la musica, poi le parole, La serva padrona, L’elisir d’amore, Rigoletto, Die Fledermaus, The Love Bacillus, Hänsel und Gretel, Halima, Pic-Nic, Don Giovanni, I Want to See the Pope, The Godson, La belle Hélène, Die lustige Witwe, Orphée aux enfers and The Apaches of Athens. In 2022/23 she starred in Eugene Trivizas’ Frikantella, the Witch Who Hated
Carols to music by Alkis Baltas. She has given many lyrical concerts in Greece and abroad. She was honoured with many prizes in international competitions. In her free time, she paints, while she writes poems and prose: March 2023 - The list of productions below is continually updated.
