Elena Stavropoulou
Set designer
Based in Athens, she has been practising architecture since 1997. She obtained her bachelor in architecture, having previously completed law studies at the School of Law and Economics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She completed the Environment and Energy Studies post-graduate programme at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London (1997) and in 2014 she founded the Stavropoulou Architects. Her work has been featured in several periodical publications. She has participated and been awarded in competitions and has taken part in many exhibitions with her work and projects. Her design portfolio includes bioclimatic residential and industrial buildings, exhibition design and the creation of spatial art installations. For Elena architecture creates a hybrid space that balances between the functional needs of reality and the need to create a poetic and imaginary world. Conversely, scenography through the physical space of the stage participates in the abstract intention of the stage director where a life experience becomes a narrative.
