He is a graphic designer and professional pilot. From 1980 to 1985 he was Chenault Spence’s assistant (1980/5). He lit the world tours of Sophisticated Ladies and Carmen Jones. He has worked in Graz (1992/3) and has lit for Zürich Opera, Stuttgart State Theatre, La Monnaie, Brussels, Hamburg State Opera, Salzburg Festival, Glyndbourne Festival, Thalia Theater, Hamburg, Volksbühne Berlin and Burgtheater, Vienna. He has worked with such directors as Johann Kresnik, Peter Konwitschny, Martin Kusej und Christoph Loy.
