Denny Vachlioti
Costume Designer
She was the daughter of director and professor of theater Christos Vachliotis and the niece of costume designer Theoni Vachlioti-Aldrich (1932-2011). She studied at the Central St. Μartin’s College of Αrt and Design in London, where she worked for some years. Her first job in Greece was designing the set for the stage play Pandora’s seven boxes [Ta epta koutia tis Pandoras] (KEA Theater, 1996), which was awarded by the Society of Greek Playwrights. She collaborated with directors Nikos Nikolaidis, George Remoundos, Ilias Malandris, Vassilis Mavromatis, George Houvardas, Stathis Livathinos, George Armenis, Elli Papakonstantinou and Mimi Denisi. She designed the costumes for Handel's opera Hercules, staged at the Herodeion (2002). She has delivered seminars at George Armenis’ New Greek Theatre. She collaborated with director Stamatis Fasoulis on the stage plays Full Monty (Porta Theater), Plaza Suite (Kivotos Theater), The Producers (Aliki Theatre), Tonight we eat at Iokastis (Dimitris Horn Theatre), La cage aux folles (Pallas Theatre), The Third Wedding (National Theatre, Kotopouli-Rex Theatre), Marinella, the musical (Pallas Theatre), Tightrope walkers (Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus), etc. She has won awards in Greece and abroad.
