Italian baritone, he studied at the National Academy of St. Cecilia and at the Juilliard School, New York, where he debuted in Le nozze di Figaro. He has sung in major European theaters with such conductors as Bychkov, Chailly, Mehta, Muti, Oren, Sinopoli, Viotti, Roberto Abbado, Bisanti and Battistoni. He has sung Macbeth in Sao Paulo, Bologna, Teatro Verdi (Trieste), Teatro Lirico (Cagliari), and Theater Kiel, Nélusko (Meyerbeer’s L’Africaine, Teatro La Fenice), Scarpia (Tosca, Teatro Comunale, Bologna, Reggio Emilia and Teatro La Fenice), Germont (La traviata, Teatro Verdi, Trieste), Alfio (Cavalleria rusticana, Teatro San Carlo, Naples), Ping (Turandot, Teatro alla Scala, Milan), Scarpia (Tosca, Savonlinna Opera Festival).
