Russian bass, born in Moscow, he began his music education at the age of seven studying piano and clarinet. Before enrolling the Moscow State Conservatory, he studied at the Moscow State Technical University. He made his debut with the Bolshoi Theatre as Oroveso (Norma) at the age of twenty one. Since then he has worked with many leading conductors and prestigious orchestras in acclaimed opera houses and festivals worldwide. His extensive repertoire includes Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Escamillo (Carmen), Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Leporello (Don Giovanni), Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Silva (Ernani), Count Walter (Luisa Miller), Attila (Attila), Zaccaria (Nabucco), Procida (I vespri siciliani), Fiesco (Simon Boccanegra), Méphistophélès (Faust and La Damnation de Faust).
