She was born in San Marino (Italy) on 7/7/1910 and passed away in Florence on 13/11/1983. She completed her voice studies in Rome. During 1933-1934 she was a member of the Italian Opera in Holland. In 1935 she sang the role of Lola in the opera Cavalleria rusticana at the Teatro Adriano in Rome, which back then functioned as an opera house. She worked there for several years, performing roles such as: Preziosilla (La forza del destino), Siebel (Faust), Marina Mniszech (Boris Godunov), Mrs. Meg Page (Falstaff), Ulrica (Un ballo in maschera), Amneris (Aida). She appeared in Amsterdam and the Hague (1944, Maddalena in Rigoletto), at the San Carlo Theater in Naples, the Carlo Felice Theater in Genoa, the Massimo Palermo Theater, the Teatro Liceo in Barcelona and the San Carlo Theater in Lisbon. She performed in the Italian premiere of Benjamin Britten’s operas The Rape of Lucretia (Rome Opera, 1949) and Peter Grimes (Italian Radio, 1956), as well as in the world premieres of the opera Vivi by Franco Mannino (San Carlo theater in Naples, 1957) and Renzo Rossellini’s Il vortice, in 1958. Her performances survive in private recordings and in the Italian radio archives. She participated in the opera film La favorita, where she lent her voice to actress Sophia Loren. She was married to conductor Vicenzo Marini.
