Georgios Vranos
Conductor
He was born in Athens. He studied music theory (A. Amarantidis) and piano (diploma, I. Papadoyanni) at the National Conservatory. He continued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich, where he became artistic director of the University Symphony Orchestra. As an assistant principal conductor, he worked with Miltiades Caridis and Theodor Guschlbauer (1996). As the second principal conductor at the opera Pforzheim (1997/2003), he worked with the Pforzheim Chamber Orchestra. He was the artistic director of the events in honour of Maria Callas (Munich, 1998/9). He was first principal conductor, deputy general music director at the opera houses in Regensburg (2003/8) and Coburg (2008/10), general music director at the Regensburg Opera (2004/5) and artistic director of the Coburg Youth Symphony Orchestra (2008/10). He has worked with Greek symphony orchestras.
