Savina Yannatou

She studied voice with Gogo Georgilopoulou and Spyros Sakkas. She graduated from the Department of Performance and Communication Skills of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London) on a scholarship from the Musagetes Foundation. Her professional career started with Lilipoupoli, a production of the Third Programme of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, in collaboration with composer Lena Platonos. She collaborated with composers such as Lena Platonos, Nikos Kypourgos, Nikos Mamangakis, Michalis Grigoriou, Dimitris Maragopoulos, Dimitris Kamarotos, Nikos Galenianos, Vangelis Katsoulis, Arild Andresen, Barry Guy, etc. She was a member of the Early Music Workshop (1981-1991). Since 1992, she has been practising free vocal improvisation in the field of free jazz. She has cooperated with the group Primavera en Salonico, performing Mediterranean and Balkan songs in music festivals around the world. She has composed music for the National Theatre of Greece, National Theatre of Northern Greece, Municipal and Regional Theatre of Larissa and Neos Kosmos Theatre.
