Konstantinos Zamanis
Set and costume designer
He was born in Ioannina. He studied theatre at the University of Athens, fashion design and costume history at the Veloudakis Fashion School and set design at the Scenography Workshop of the Athens School of Fine Arts and at the Slade School of Fine Art at the University of London, with scholarships from the Friends of Music Society and the Onassis Foundation. As a set and costume designer, he has worked with the National Theatre, Hellenic Festival, Amphi-theatro, Athens Art Theatre, Neworld Theatre, Aplo Theatro, among others, in collaboration with distinguished Greek artists. In 2008, he was honoured with the National Quality Award for his work on the set of the film Slaves in their bonds (dir. T. Lykouresis), as well as with the New Creator Award by the Union of Greek Critics for Drama and Music for the set of the performance Plasticine (dir. K. Evangelatos) at the National Theatre.
