Ines Zikou
Soloist, Mezzo-Soprano
Greek mezzo-soprano, she studied Ηistory of Spanish Αrt (University of Santander), voice at the Athens Conservatory under Kiki Morfoniou and melodrama with Kostas Paskalis. She continued her studies at the Queen Sofia College of Music, Madrid, under Teresa Berganza (Alexandra Trianti scholarship). She received her diploma (with honors and first prize) from Carlo-Maria Giulini during a special ceremony. In 2008 she won the Maria Callas scholarship. She has sung at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Epidaurus, Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls, Greek Νational Οpera, as well as abroad. She has collaborated with many prestigious orchestras and famous composers and conductors such as Luciano Berio, Jesús López-Cobos, Carlo-Maria Giulini, Michelle Fournillier and Michel Plasson. Her repertoire includes the most important roles for mezzo-soprano, Lieder, oratorios and Greek composers’ works. Αt the GNO she has sung Lucia (Cavalleria rusticana), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Carmen (“The Suitcase Opera”), Marthe (Faust), Amersa (The Murderess) and Second maid (R.
