Giorgos Zografos
Soloist, Tenor
Greek tenor, he was born in Athens. He studied Communication and Mass Media and worked in the press and television as a journalist. He studied elafró song (literally: "light song") with Sophia Vossou and later classical singing with tenor Stamatis Beris and soprano Sonja Milenković (Thales Conservatory, diploma with honors and first prize). He continued his studies under renowned Italian tenor Nicola Martinucci in Milan (Maria Callas scholarship). In April 2015 he made his debut in Cyprus as Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana) with Young Symphony Orchestra of Cyprus (Cyprus Opera Festival), while the same year he sang Canio (Pagliacci, «The Suitcase Opera», GNO). Moreover, at the Greek National Opera he has sung First Armoured Man (Die Zauberflöte) and Malcolm (Macbeth). He has attended numerous master classes with Jeannette Pilou, Carlo Bergonzi and Dimitri Kavrakos. He has participated in concerts and festivals with Athens Municipality Symphony Orchestra, Music Ensembles of Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, Orchestra of Athens Chamber Opera etc. He studied at the Department of Social Theology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. // Last update of the biography: December 2015 - The list of the productions below is complete.
