Suzanne Andrade
Director
English author and performer, she studied theatre performance at Bretton Hall (West Yorkshire, England) and French theatre at the Manchester Metropolitan University. Upon graduating, she was commissioned by the BBC to write a full length play for the West Yorkshire Playhouse. While still in the north, she entered and won several small-scale standup comedy competitions before moving to London and establishing herself as one of the most sought-after performance poets on the circuit, appearing on Radio 3 (BBC). She began working with animator and illustrator Paul Barritt to develop several smallscale shows involving her poetry and his projections. Their theatre company “1927” was founded in 2005 and for more than a decade now they have been dealing with theatrical entanglements of live performance, live music and animation. They presented their first production in the London cabaret scene and since then they have won several awards. This production of Die Zauberflöte has thrilled audiences and critics worldwide. // Last update of the biography: March 2018 - The list of the productions below is complete.
