He was born in Belém, Pará (Brazil). He studied solo vocals at the Carlos Gomes Conservatory under Malna Mineva. He won the first prize in the International Contests Maria Helena Carodos Coehlo (Belém, 2007) and Truhillo (Peru, 2007), the second prize in the Maracanto National Contest (2006), and he was also awarded a distinction in the Licia Albanese Open Contest. At age 21, he debuted in a leading role, interpreting Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi) at the Theatro da Paz (Belém). A year later, he launched his career in Europe, interpreting Rodolfo (La bohème) at the GNO (2008-09). In 2011, he debuted at the Metropolitan Opera House of New York, participating in a summer concert where he sang arias. In 2012-12, he debuted at the Royal Opera in London (Covent Garden), in the role of Ruggero (The Swallow/La rondine), as well as at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, in the role of Alfredo Germont (La traviata). Since 2012, he has been a member of the Stuttgart Opera. In 2014, at the Cologne Opera House, he interpreted the leading role of Nemorino in the opera L'elisir d'amore. His repertoire also includes the following roles: Don Alvaro (Il Guarany), Alfred (Die Fledermaus), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Ismaele (Nabucco), Fenton (Falstaff), Rodolfo (La bohème), Jaquino (Fidelio). As a soloist, he has sung Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, Kurt Weill's The Seven Deadly Sins (Die sieben Todsünden) and Rossini's Stabat Mater.
