She was born in Smyrna in 1924. She studied at the Opera Department of the Ankara State Conservatory, where she graduated in 1944. Her first appearance was in the comic opera Bastien und Bastienne by W.A. Mozart, which received encouraging comments from her teachers. Since then, she has appeared in other small opera performances. During this time, she met the actor, director and artistic director Carl Ebert. This meeting was the occasion for her first professional performance as Susanna in the opera Le nozze di Figaro. The door to Europe opened for the young, talented Ayhan, who played leading and demanding roles such as: Mařenka (The Bartered Bride), Mimì (La bohème), Asli (Kerem). At the Greek National Opera, she sang the role of Cio-Cio-San / Madama Butterfly (1948-1949).
