Lambros Balatsas

Lambros Balatsas initially followed vocal studies under Kaiti Papalexopoulos and Antonis Kontogeorgiou. He continued his studies at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg under Josef Wallnig and Heinrich Pflanzl. While he was still a student, he interpreted roles in the operas: Le nozze di Figaro, La forza del destino, Don Carlo, Fidelio, Dvorak’s Rusalka, as well as in the world premiere of the opera by the Austrian composer Wolfgang Niessner Prometheus - Der aufrechte Gang. He worked for the Megaron, the Athens Concert Hall during the production of the work The Return of Helen by Thanos Mikroutsikos (ΜACH 1992, 1996) and in the opera Don Giovanni from the Opera Studio, prepared for a staging by Ruggero Raimondi (1996). He also worked with the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) during a concert presentation of the opera Lucrezia Borgia by Donizetti (1994), under the baton of Angelo Kavallaro and Te Deum by Zoltan Kodaly, under the baton of conductor Miltiades Caridis. During 1993-1995, he worked with the GNO interpreting roles in 4 productions and/or reproductions of three operas: Tom [Un ballo in maschera], Cesare Angelotti [Tosca] and Palemon [Thaïs]. // Last update of the biography: December 2015.
