
Hrachuhi Bassenz
Soloist, Soprano
German-Armenian soprano, she was born to a musical family in Yerevan, Armenia. After her violin studies, she studied singing at the Komitas State Conservatory in her hometown. She is a member of the Semperoper Dresden where, she has been singing leading roles since September 2018. Moreover, she has performed at the Royal Opera House (Covent Garden, London), Vienna State Opera, Norvegian Opera and Ballet, L’Opéra national du Rhin (Strasbourg) and the New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, to name a few. She has collaborated with such conductors as Antonio Pappano, Johannes Wildner, Alexander Shelley, Daniel Oren, Antonino Fogliani, John Fiore, Henrik Nánási and leading directors including Laura Scozzi, Calixto Bieito, Mariame Clément, David McVicar, Elijah Moshinsky, Bruno Ravella. She has been awarded numerous prizes, including Singer of the Year and Audience Award from the Musiktheater Gelsenkirchen, the second prize of the Voci Verdiane international Singing Competition as well as the Gold Medal from the Ministry of Culture and the Komitas Medal from the Diaspora Ministry of the Republic of Armenia. // Last update of the biography: March 2022.
