Dancer
He was born in Thessaloniki in 1987. He became especially interested in and has had a flair for dancing since he was a young boy. He started taking Latin dance lessons at the age of 15, in Thessaloniki. Encouraged by his teachers, he turned to classical ballet and studied at Mary Liatsou’s school under an English teacher. A year later, at age 16, he was admitted after an audition to the school of the Birmingham Royal Ballet, England. He studied there for three years (2004-07) and graduated with a professional dancer national diploma. He danced with the Birmingham Royal Ballet in productions of the Russian ballets: The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty [La Belle au bois dormant], The Temple Dancer [La Bayadère], La Cenerentola [Cinderella] and The Firebird [L'oiseau de feu]. Upon his return to Greece he was hired by the GNO after an audition. In 2008 he joined the GNO corps de ballet, becoming a soloist in 2012 and principal dancer in 2013. He has performed soloist and leading roles in ballets, including: Giselle, Four last songs [Vier letzte lieder], The Snow Queen, Eugene Onegin, Don Quixote, Beethoven Op. 73, Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker (choreographed by Renato Zanella, 2012), Chopin in love (choreographed Janice Parker), etc.
