She was born in Livorno, Italy, on 16/5/1942. She has been active in various arts. At first, she studied scenic design at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, ans also classical ballet and recitation. Then she studied kinetics and mimicry with the Suisse Roy Bosier, and acting at the Experimental Cinema Center [Centro sperimentale di cinematografia] in Rome. She has worked for many years with the famous company of mimics Mummenschanz. As an actor, she has participated in stagings of avant garde and experimental plays. She has also appeared in more than 45 films, such as Spike Lee's Miracle at St. Anna], and in television, such as the American series Rome. She has collaborated with major Italian film directors, such as Federico Fellini, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Roberto Rossellini, etc. She has choreographed several operas, including Orfeo ed Euridice, L'elisir d'amore, Prove di un’opera seria, Macbeth, I Lombardi, Salome, and The Fiery Angel (by Prokofiev). She has founded the non-profit organization MTM (Mimo-Teatro-Movimento), and she serves as director of its theater school. She also teaches mimicry, recitation and the art of Comedia dell'Arte in Italy and other countries. She has collaborated with the GNO in the production of the opera Turandot at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus [""Herodion""] in 2007-08.
