Anne Blancard

Actress, Dramatist
She was born in Montpellier (France). She studied in National People's Theater- Drama School "Charles Dullin" in Paris, under Jean Vilar, Jean-marie Serreau and Georges Le Roy. As an actress has appeared in several theater productions. As a journalist, Blancard has been involved in the preparation and production of cultural programmes on Conarky radio in Guinea (Africa). She has released and presented political and cultural magazines for Deutsche Welle and also for the International Radio France. Since 1987 Blancard has worked as a dramatist with the stage director Yannis Kokkos on almost all of his productions at the world’s great theatres including La Scala, Covent Garden, Théâtre du Châtelet, Opéra de Paris etc. Some of the most recent collaborations with Yannis Kokkos are: Dido and Aeneas (Opéra de Bordeau), Les Troyens and Die Bassariden (Théâtre du Châtelet), Assassinio nella cattedrale (Teatro alla Scala), Frau ohne Shatten (Maggio Musicale Fiorentino), Idomeneo (Opéra de Nancy), Theater Mariinsky St. Petersburg (Don Quixote/Don Quichotte, Trojans/Les Troyens) Nabucco (Staatsoper Munich), Turandot (Opéra national de Lorraine). At the Greek National Opera she worked with Kokkos in the productions of The Flying Dutchman (Der fliegende Holländer) (Athens Festival/Herodeion, 2013), and Tristan and Isolde (GNO/Athens Concert Hall, 2014-15) and Otello (Athens Festival/Herodeion, 2014).
