Kyriakos Bourtzikos

Light Designer
He studied lighting techniques and stage lighting design at the College of William and Mary in New Jersey (USA), graduating with honors. He was subsequently hired by L. Watson (New York). He worked as a lighting designer in operas and ballets around the world (Toronto, Seattle, Sun City, South Africa). As a freelancer, he worked with Mikhail Baryshnikov, Jiří Kylián, Robert Joffrey, as well as with distinguished dance groups. In Greece, he has worked for the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, in productions with Baryshnikov. He designed the lighting for a tribute to Maria Callas, which was aired live on television globally (2007). He worked with the GNO in the production of Four last songs [Vier letzte Lieder] and Baroque and roll, jointly presented in 2007/08.
