Swiss-Turkish director, she was born into a family of musicians. She started the piano at the age of four and sang in the children’s chorus of the Grand Théâtre de
Genève from the age of ten. Trained in the Stanislavski System, she graduated with a degree in theatre directing from Bilkent University of Ankara, Turkey,
and was recognised as one of the youngest directors to stage a play in Istanbul State Theatre. She won the WhatsOnStage Best Newcomer to the UK Operatic
Scene 2014 Opera Poll with her production of Pelléas et Mélisande. Selected credits as a director include Lakmé (Opera Holland Park), La bohème (Ankara
State Opera), I Capuleti e i Montecchi (National Τheatre of Albania), The Rake’s Progress and Aurora (Bury Court Opera), Pelléas et Mélisande, Werther, Samson
et Dalila and Cholera Street / Ağır Roman (Arcola Theatre), Children of War / Savaşın çocukları (British Museum), The Importance of Being Earnest (Tower
