Costume designer
She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo, her hometown, with Francesco Zito, and completed her master studies as a costume designer at the Teatro Massimo, Palermo (Farani Tailoring). She began her career with collaborations in the field of musical theatre and cinema and made her debut as a costume designer for Teatro Biondο, Palermo (1993). In 1996 she designed costumes for Henze’s Pollicino at the Teatro Massimo, Palermo. Since 2003 she has been working with Enrico Castiglione designing costumes for operas like Leonard Bernstein’s Candide (Teatro Argentina, Rome), Le Villi and Edgar (Teatro Quirino, Rome), as well as all the operas staged at the Ancient Theatre of Taormina: Cherubini’s Medea, Tosca, Aida, Turandot, Nabucco,Norma, Rigoletto, Cavalleria rusticana, Pagliacci, Carmen, Il barbiere di Siviglia and Don Giovanni, the latter two live broadcasted by RAI live in movie theatres and television channels around the world.
