Soloist, Mezzo-soprano
She was born in Bayeux, Normandy (France). She studied music at the University of Tours, where she first majored in flute and piano. She studied singing under Udo Reinmann and later under Grace Bumbry in Salzburg (French and Italian repertoire) and Brigitte Fassbaender (German repertoire). She attracted the musical world’s attention embodying Carmen [Carmen] at the Arena di Verona (2009), directed by Franco Zeffirelli. Soon afterwards she successfully debuted in the US, initially as Adriano [Rienzi] at New York’s Avery Fisher Hall, and then as Sesto [The Clemency of Titus/La clemenza di Tito] (2012). At the same time, she made her debut in China, Japan, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates, in roles such as Delilah [Samson and Delilah/Samson et Dalila] (Seoul, opposite José Cura), Carmen (Tokyo, opposite Plácido Domingo), Rosina [The barber of Seville/Il barbiere di Siviglia] (Oman, Beijing). She sings starring mezzo-soprano roles in Italian and French repertoire operas, including: Marguerite [La damnation de Faust], Fenena [Nabucco], Romeo [Romeo and Juliet], Adalgisa [Norma], Charlotte [Werther], Donna Elvira [Don Giovanni], Sara [Roberto Devereux], Gertrude [Hamlet], etc. She has also sang the roles of Kostelnicka [Jenůfa, by Janáček], Mother Marie [Dialogues of the Carmelites/Les dialogues des Carmelites, by Poulenc], as well as mezzo-soprano parts in religious music works, such as Verdi’s and Donizetti’s Requiems, and Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle. She has appeared at the GNO once as Carmen (Odeon of Herodes Atticus, 2015).
