Light Designer
He was born in London. He has designed lighting for numerous theater plays and musicals in major venues in the United Kingdom such as: West End, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, the Almeida theatre, the Abbey Theatre Dublin. Also, he has designed the lighting in over twenty productions of the English National Opera, including Rusalka, Faust,The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte), The Marriage of Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), The love for three oranges, etc. For the Royal Opera in London he designed the lighting in the productions of Macbeth, Samson et Dalila, Tannhäuser, Mitridate (Mitridate re di Ponto), Eugene Onegin, etc. For the City of Birmingham Touring Opera he designed the lighting for the opera The ring of Nibelung (Der Ring des Nibelungen). Also designed many productions for the Kent Opera and the Scottish Opera. At the Welsh National Opera he designed the operas The Cunning Little Vixen (Příhody lišky Bystroušky) and the Makropoulos Case (Věc Makropulos). He has worked with theaters in Paris, Lyon, Geneva, Monte Carlo, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Bologna, Florence, Rome, Turin, Venice, Frankfurt, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Sydney, New York (Metropolitan Opera), Chicago and Houston. He has also designed the lighting for productions of dance troupes, such as Ballet Rambert and for London Festival Ballet, the Royal Ballet and Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet He designed the lighting in the television series Peter in paradise (BBC 2) and Family (Channel 4). He served as a collaborator in the production of the series Heroes for the TV channel Discovery. GNO presented a revival of his lighting design of the opera The cunning little vixen [Příhody lišky Bystroušky] (2014-15)
