Set Designer
He was born in Milan, Italy in 1950. Since 1982, ha has been working for the Fondazione Arena di Verona, where he has served as assistant stage manager (1982-1985), head of the technical department (1985-1995), director of Technical Division (1995-2001) and since 2001 as stage manager, a position that makes him responsible for all the productions of the Arena and the Teatro Filarmonico Verona, as well as of their tours in Italy and abroad. He has worked, among others, with Franco Zeffirelli, Pier Luigi Pizzi and Hugo de Ana. As a director, he has worked on productions of the ballets Giselle, Coppélia, Don Quixote, Zorba the Greek and The Sleeping Beauty, as well as the operas Tosca and La Traviata. He designed the set for the production of Pericles, Prince of Tyre at the Roman Theatre of Verona (Teatro Romano di Verona) and for the staging of Aida at the archaeological sites of Karnak and Luxor, Egypt (1987). He designed the set for the GNO production of Aida, staged at the Herodeion 2008/09.
