He was born in Piraeus. He studied theatre and physic in Thessaloniki. In 1984 he founded the Simeio Theatre, of which he is the artistic director. He has staged around 100 works in the fields of theatre, opera, radio and television and presented Greek and foreign contemporary authors, many of them for the first time in Greece. He has collaborated with the National Theatre, National Theatre of Northern Greece etc., directing ancient tragedies, Tosca and La traviata (in semi-directed form, Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra), Agamemnon, The Darkness of Mistico, Der Engel auf dem Shiff (Greek National Opera) and The Bear by W. Walton (Simeio Theatre). He has participated in international conferences and festivals, taught acting and directing in numerous seminars and at the University, and served on committees of the Ministry of Culture.
