Zoi Dimitriou

Dancer, Choreographer
She was born in Athens. She graduated from the National School of Dance with grade 'excellent'. She continued her studies on a scholarship of the 'A.Onassis Foundation' at the Trischa Brown School (New York). In 2005 she completed her postgraduate studies at the Trinity-Laban School of Modern Dance in London. She works based in London and Athens. She collaborated with artists such as Yvonne Rainer, Kirstie Simson, Felix Ruckert and Siobhan Davies. Her choreographies have been presented at important theatres and festivals internationally, such as the Royal Opera London, the Bonnie Bird Theatre, The Place in London, the Calamata International Dance Festival, the Athens Festival, the Teatro Piccolo in Milan, the Europe in Motion Festival (Bucharest) etc. She participates in international artistic and research programmes and teaches dance and choreography in London at the modern dance centers Trinity-Laban and The Place, the Independence Dance organization, the Royal Central School of speech and drama. She has created works for Sadler's Wells, the Company of Angels organization etc. She teaches at the Impulstanz Festival in Vienna, the Marameo in Berlin and the Duncan Dance Center in Athens. She has danced with many Greek groups of modern dance. She has also collaborated with the Onassis Cultural Center creating the works 'Commissions' and 'You May!'. She was awarded the award of the Robin Howard Foundation (2008), the Choreography award from the 'Bonnie Bird Fund' (2009) and the Choreography for Children CFC Award (2010). At the Greek National Opera she presented her choreography Limen (2006-07).
